Kurdistan Region is situated in the Northern part of Iraq, has the status of an autonomous region and consists of three provinces (Duhok, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah). Tourism development is only in its very initial phase but the tourism industry is seen as one of the most potential sectors.
In cooperation with a many local consulting companies from Lebanon like TEAM, and international companies like Kohl & Partner, AISO International was assigned to prepare a Tourism Master Plan for Kurdistan Region. Based on the evaluation of the current situation (including several surveys, stakeholder interviews and site visits). More than 60 sites where selected and developed for the area best touristic facilities plan.
